My Little Day

I'm digging this French party shop and their photo styling.  Super fun, don't you think?  This looks like a party I want to be at!

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thinking that my Thanksgiving may look a lot like this, as I'll be spending this holiday in NY, working.

There's still plenty to be grateful for.  Happy Thanksgiving, folks.

a tent

"The most important part of a tent is the stars," she says.

I'd have to agree.

The Otter

It's a little gloomy out in Brooklyn today.  I thought some river otter action might cheer things up.  :)

Honestly, I would keep a couple of these in my bathtub if I could.

Angela Adams

I always love Angela Adams' rugs. (Remember these?)  This one is no exception.  So fun!

NYC marathon

The NYC marathon was last Sunday.

Did you know that kids as young as 8 years old have run the marathon in the past?  How crazy is that?  And this year an 84 year old woman endeavored to be the oldest female ever to complete the course.  (She totally rocked it, by the way.)

How are people so awesome?

Tomorrow, I'm heading to Tyler State Park in PA to run a 10K.  I am proud to say that this event has raised over $90,000 in support of Autism Cares, a non-profit that provides free events for people on the autistic spectrum and is in the process of building an Autism Resources Center in Bucks County, PA.

Ban.do

I assumed the girls behind Ban.do were awesome, but who'd have thought their studio would look like this?  This place looks like a heck of a good time.  Fun, fun!

Lookin' Out My Backdoor, Creedence Clearwater Revival

Gotta say, I wouldn't mind sitting on the sofa there, listening as they play away..

Farm Anatomy

I'm thinking I might have to buy this book by Julia Rothman.  I know I live in an apartment.  in Brooklyn.  But I have a romantic notion about living on a farm and making everything for myself.  You never know, maybe it'll happen someday.  For now, I'll just look.  I especially love the illustrations and guidelines on how to color wool with plant-based dyes.

Mornings at Blackwater

For years, every morning, I drank
from Blackwater Pond.
It was flavored with oak leaves and also, no doubt,
the feet of ducks.
And always it assuaged me
from the dry bowl of the very far past.
What I want to say is
that the past is the past,
and the present is what your life is,
and you are capable
of choosing what that will be,
darling citizen.
So come to the pond,
or the river of your imagination,
or the harbor of your longing,
and put your lips to the world.
And live
your life.

Shake it Out, Florence + the Machine

I was lucky enough to see Florence + the Machine (for free!) a couple weeks ago in DUMBO. They are super awesome live, and this song was especially fun.

dusty

As a rule, I hate dusting.

But sometimes, it surprises you.

And reminds you to keep your eyes open -- there's beauty everywhere.  :)
