C Bukowski
"If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire... you will ride life straight to perfect laughter, it's the only good fight there is."

"A swing, you say?"
"A Swing in the living room? Really?"
"Yeah, I think it'd be cool."
"I guess... we've got a trapeze in our house. But, yeah, I guess swings are cool."
(i think my brain just imploded with envy.)

"Our Deepest Fear," Mariane Williamson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of god. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine.
We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

afternoon naps
Either things have got to change here, or I'm moving to Spain where siestas are the way of life.

"The world is full of nice, ordinary little people who live in nice, ordinary little houses on the ground. But didn't you ever dream of a house up on a tree top?"

Rolling Stone
In general, I do not like Rolling Stone magazine. I think they are snooty. They make cool things boring. (If I am bored reading an article about Erykah Badu, there is something wrong...something seriously wrong.)
But then I saw this behind-the-scenes of Mad Men which is actually pretty sweet. I don't know if it's because Mad Men is just that awesome or if they were on a tight deadline - but for whatever reason, they had the good sense to keep their mouths shut for once. I am pleased.

Walt Disney
"I can never stand still. I must explore and experiment. I am never satisfied with my work. I resent the limitations of my own imagination."
